I was going to make 9 maps, but since I never worked on the other maps, it's just one map replacing E1M1. The map is harder than the original E1M1.

Looks like nostalgic fun. ;p

This map looks awsome, as soon as your done i want to try it.

EarthQuake writes:(new) 14.01.2004, 06:24 GMT+1

How is this supposed to work in doom2.exe? Those look like models and hi-res textures to me.

MasterOfPuppets writes:(new) 14.01.2004, 07:05 GMT+1

very E1 ^_^!! good work

It's not supposed to work in doom2.exe, because it's a DooM wad, not a DooM II wad. Then models and hi-res textures and probably detail textures too, comes from jDoom, because I like to play with models and hires textures and detail textures too. But when you play it with the doom.exe, then those just won't appear. The objects will be sprites, walls will be "low" res and not getting detail textures on them.

One more thing, EarthQuake, Try reading the description(if it's not a mile long description) and the text above the pictures a bit more careful... ;)

EarthQuake writes:(new) 15.01.2004, 02:06 GMT+1

If all that won't appear, then why take screenshots using those textures and stuff?
To cover up bad level design? or to make it look better than what it is?

Please don't post screenshots with stuff like that; it get's people's hopes up.

Jow writes:(new) 15.01.2004, 06:10 GMT+1

I took the screenshots when I playtested the map with my normal settings, which includes highres textures, detail textures and models. Then after I had killed all monsters in the map, then I took those 3 shots. And when I took these screenshots, I didn't think that is it looking better than it is, because it was looking like it is. Perhaps next time I take screenshots with no textures on the walls, just white?

If you think this project sucks, then don't play it when it's released.

Please don't diss Doomsday with comments like that; it get's people's minds down.

baphomet writes:(new) 15.01.2004, 06:45 GMT+1

looks great say give me the site when you put this wad up

MasterOfPuppets writes:(new) 15.01.2004, 12:17 GMT+1

maybe EarthQuake dosn't know about Doomsday and jDoom? well, if you don't, go check it out.

Jow writes:(new) 15.01.2004, 16:44 GMT+1

Yeah, of course, I tell the adress here when it's done. Might take more than a month or so... Yesterday I started the second map, and it's looking good so far.

EarthQuake writes:(new) 16.01.2004, 05:57 GMT+1

I first saw this level and I was like "wow, this will look nice in Zdoom" but then I saw how your level was labeled as requiring a limit removing port I woindered how this would run in other ports that don't support high-res textures. If I used anything other than jDoom, the level would look nothing like the screenshots. If you are going to cover it up using a fancy port with textures that aren't a part of the level, then at least mark this wad as being a jDoom wad. Otherwise, use another port to take the screenshots, so that people know they don't have to have jDoom to play this level and have it look like it does in the shots. Please.
Also, don't put words in my mouth. I never said this project "sucked"
I'm not going to argue anymore. mkaythanksbai

iori writes:(new) 16.01.2004, 11:22 GMT+1

EarthQuake: The shots were taken in Jdoom with Hi res textures and models. Those are added to Jdoom externally, and dont affect the level at all. Jow chose to show the shots using models and Hi Res, thats all.

iori writes:(new) 16.01.2004, 11:24 GMT+1

Damn sorry, my bad. I thought that comments went from top to bottom, not Vice Versae. Please ignore that last post. Nice looking level, Jow ;)

Jow writes:(new) 16.01.2004, 15:51 GMT+1

Zdoom is a limit removing port too... but I think you know that too.

Go here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/jeejeeje/images/ and check the DOOM pictures from there if you want to see how it looks on ZDooM.

EarthQuake writes:(new) 17.01.2004, 04:38 GMT+1

Okay, now that's what I'm talking about.
The shots look good (I especially like the 4th and 5th for some reason.
It looks real E1-ish, very promising.

Nmn writes:(new) 16.10.2004, 20:55 GMT+1

Is it me or have the Autumn 2004 brought us an above-average number of E1 wads? O_o Looks stunning, I promise I'll play it.

dethtoll writes:(new) 16.10.2004, 23:02 GMT+1

well that was a fun way to blow 5-10 minutes.

don't use so many spectres next time, though. i found that annoying.

Lutrov71 writes:(new) 16.10.2004, 23:25 GMT+1

Spectres were sorta annoying in the blinking areas, but still pretty good.
I remember seeing screenshots of this half a year ago! jeez.

yea, I started doing it then, but during that half year I didn't make any continuing to this map, so I decided to release it. I had released it earlier, but now I opened it in Doom Builder again and added the blinky stuff there and those annoying spectres which I like very much :
