OK, still not sure about the story line but like any good B horror movie, the story line doesn't really matter. This wad will unfortunately require a decent computer to run it. It has over 5000 sectors, 27000 linedefs, 42000 sidedefs. I will do everything I can to optimize performance without effecting the game's mechanics. It does run fairly smooth on my machine and runs faster than some other zdoom wads I've played in the past.

This focuses heavily on atmosphere. Lots of entities and sounds to create that atmosphere.

Some weapons have be added.

There are around 15 new enemies with a few more to come. Theres plenty of blood and flying gibs too. I've been doing all the sprite drawing and sounds so it takes awhile. The first happytime circus was meant to be a joke wad that I used to scare my little brother. This WAD is more scary I think.

Sorry, don't really know. It is 17 megs at this point if that helps. I hope in a few months it will be done so I can start an evil dead mod where you play as Ash and have to collect the necronomicon pages in order to progress through the levels.

I hope it is finished soon too the idea of an Evil Dead mod done in the Zdoom engine is very cool I'm sure that this mod will be kewl too though but I have a soft spot for the Evil Dead mod

You're too late my friend. An Evil Dead wad has already been made... and made the list for top 10 wads of 1996.

Happy Time Circus was and still is the only Doom wad I TRUELY found scarey. A lot of Doom wads make good use of the old "BOO!" tactics, but none of them really presented any real terror. That's what I loved about Happy Time Circus. It used some Boo tactics, but a lot of it was real fear.
The only thing I found disappointing about it was Pennywise. Mainly because it was just a cheap picture of his head.

Thanks everyone and thanks Tormentor667 for the blood texture wad, I've included your credit graphic in the wad. Circus666 did use a cheap picture of pennywise and I didn't like that so I made the whole pennywise for this one. Got all the walking and one attack sequence done but because of how big IT is its taking awhile for the rest. Plus I'm still trying to figure out what would be a good end battle. I'm open to suggestions.

I also intend to create a few "easter eggs" as well such as new (hidden) monsters, hidden weapons, or just strange hidden places. My goal is to make the wad good for more than just one play, not just for all of you but also for me as strange as that sounds.

Soon as I finish a basic idea for a final battle I'm be looking for a few dedicated playtesters for the final phase of development such as ammo / health balance, adding or removing enemies, bugs, ect. It will be awhile for that though since I'm not sure about the final battle other than it won't be like circus666's final battle.

Yeah, theres some evil dead stuff in there. It shouldn't take that much longer, I'm working on the final battle and Pennywise is nearly complete. After that I'll be tweaking gameplay and then probably looking for playtesters. I also want to add some more "easter eggs."

Progress is going very well, I spent most of the weekend working on the end battle. The map is now beatable from start to finish using god mode (haven't bothered to tweak gameplay just yet). Next I need to finish sprites for the end boss as well as create some good attacks for it.

The level only reflects a realistic circus in an abstract kind of way. The map mainly consists of a town along with surreal circus areas.

Well, its playable but I feel theres still some things to be worked on before playtesting begins. Maybe add another monster or two and add another weapon. I'm also considering making the map co-op friendly but that means shifting through over 2000 lines of ACS to make sure the level would function properly with two or more people triggering scripts. I may also make some DM maps and include them in the wad, it might be fun using the new weapons.

Its a public release for playtesting but if you want to play for the fun of it, you can. It should be beatable and I'll be uploading new versions as bugs are discovered or if I decide to change something (like maybe the ending).
