Welcome to Hellopolis, a large and complex wad with all the action of Doom that you crave! This wad features a lot of tricks and traps, so navigate wisely!

Isaac writes:04.02.2009, 20:31 GMT+1

All right, here it is! The download link that I promised! Enjoy!

Moti writes:04.02.2009, 21:49 GMT+1

Watching through the wad in XWE (before playing it) I see numerous 'maps' with the things/sectors/whatever lumps but no MAPXX name...
You need to learn how to work with lumps. Get rid of these lumps (simply with using XWE).
I haven't played it yet, and I will do it after school.

Isaac writes:05.02.2009, 01:29 GMT+1

Ok, I'm sorry.

Isaac writes:05.02.2009, 02:05 GMT+1

Off topic, Terry is at it again with yet another typical Terry-ble wad.
Don't waste your time with it. It's garbage just like his other wads.

Moti writes:05.02.2009, 05:24 GMT+1

I invented the phrase Terry-ble. :(

Moti writes:05.02.2009, 08:38 GMT+1

Okay. I finished playing this.
Skimming through this wad with god mode on and sometimes losing my patience and using my lovely "Summon BFGBall" bind, it took me at least 50 minutes.
The map was long and hard. Probably way too hard. I didn't not like it, though. It was okay. Much better than your previous releases, looks like you're improving. :)
I liked the details and layout (Those football fields made me raise an eyebrow ;P ) and they mostly looked good. What I couldn't help but noticing is that you map with a 32x32 grid constantly... For shorter details you could lower the grid level to like 16.
What I completely disliked about the map? The teleporting monsters on those pentagram-like sectors. They didn't flood the map, but IT TAKES THE FOREVER TO TELEPORT AND IT DOESN'T F***ING END. Mancubi, demons, imps, all of them didn't move from the sector they were spawned at and there were like 70 more monsters awaiting in queue. Get rid of this... ASAP. please.

Other than that a very average map, don't quit mapping, this is an excellent improvement since your last maps. :)

I'm express my sincere apologies to anyone who has played this so far. I guess I did get a little careless with some of the fights. I can promise you that the mistakes that have been in common with my maps so far won't happen again or from this point on starting with my next release. I need to do a better job of designing teleporters and make the monsters teleport into a level the RIGHT way. I need to learn to make the (monster telepoter destination)sectors bigger. I know I can do better. I will make my maps much, much easier from now on. No more 1000+ monster maps from me. I'll just stick to a simple 100/200 amount like any rookie should. 1000+ should be for veterans like Huy Pham, the HR/HR2/AV crews,
and etc. who mave been mapping for 6+ years. In fact, i'll consider changing the name of my megawad beacuse it sounds too much like a name for a slaughterwad, which maybe I shouldn't attempt to do until I have a little more experience.

Isaac writes:06.02.2009, 20:53 GMT+1

Hey Terry, this is how you make a REAL wad, buster!

Isaac writes:07.02.2009, 07:26 GMT+1

Any chance this map could complete the ndcp2 project?

ghost writes:07.02.2009, 15:00 GMT+1

Sorry mate, no chance. Besides the missing slot is Map10 (your map is hard :/), we are awaiting response from Nuxius otherwise we already have a backup map.

You can get into the next NDCP3 project though (if there will be). ;)

Isaac writes:07.02.2009, 16:15 GMT+1

Oh, OK. Yeah, I agree. This would be way too hard to be a capable map 10.

Isaac writes:09.02.2009, 20:04 GMT+1

How would you grade this wad now that you've had a chance to try it out?

Moti writes:10.02.2009, 05:06 GMT+1

I gave it 3/5 on doomworld.

Isaac writes:12.02.2009, 06:03 GMT+1

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I have updated this file so that all the bugs are fixed and I have even added a little more to this level which you'll really like! I'll probably change the download link as well so that it takes you to the updated file.

Moti writes:12.02.2009, 06:18 GMT+1

You have to change the DL link... lol. how else do you want us to get the new file?

Isaac writes:12.02.2009, 06:41 GMT+1

I uploaded it to Fileplanet, so it might take a while.

Can I just suggest this: Why not join Doomworld/Newdoom forums and upload (onto free easy to access file hosting like speedyshare, etc) the maps for feedback/testing, then upload the final version to idgames where the map would be in suberb condition. It helped a lot for me. WadsInProgress isn't a good place to get specific and helpful feedback compared to the forums IMO.

I've tried, but I've had no success. Anyways, I have updated the file at Planet Doom with all the changes that I mentioned, so don't worry about the download link being changed. As far as idgames, I've tried to upload the updated file to there, but I keep getting rejected because my email address is termed as "invalid" even though its the only one I can use.

Cool and well done.

Moti writes:15.02.2009, 06:56 GMT+1

Looks like you got a good review on Doomworld. ;)

I can see some people over at Doomworld are complaining about the yellow key trigger not working. The reason for that is because linedefs 9483-9498 have a block sound action. The idea was to try and attack the archvile guarding the key from up close so that the traps would be triggered. For the people who haven't played this wad yet, if you grab the yellow key and nothing happens, just perform a simple gunfire and all the baddies will enter that part of the map.

Doomguy93 writes:19.02.2009, 07:15 GMT+1

that looks pretty helluva map :O

deathspleasure writes:23.03.2009, 10:29 GMT+1

deathspleasure writes:31.03.2009, 11:09 GMT+1

whats the difference on hpolis and hellpolis?

Dutch Devil writes:31.03.2009, 16:40 GMT+1

How can you say that an map has too many monsters if your cheating your way trough it? Its like trying to make an baby while wearing an condom.

jimmy91 writes:18.06.2009, 14:08 GMT+1

Download link is busted. :(
